boxViolet is the pet project of best friends, Margot Paige (vocals/guitar) and Luke Ehret (programming/lead guitar) who after being bored by the tired life of their hometown Los Angeles began playing music together. Their devotion to the craft of songwriting and the art of delivery has elevated them from utter obscurity in musician-littered Los Angeles to a position of ever-increasing community popularity.
After several digital and DIY releases, the group's impassioned musical efforts and exhilarating live performances continue to garner them local blog attention and strong fan loyalty.
Their latest release "Audition” EP, a tour of the sensitive young female psychology when met with man at his most defensive, was mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Blondie) and mastered by Tom Coyne (Dido, Frou Frou) at Sterling Sound and available digitally through iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, and other online retailers.

boxViolet (Viola narthecium) is native to Los Angeles, a hybrid of boy and girl. Within a few days of meeting Margot, Luke shared the text of a song he’d written about her, which included the lines: “black hair, dark green eyes/they show.”
